I would recommend this to anyone sound is super and the upscaling is great not quite hd quality but pretty close. This surround sound is amazing. It will literally rattle pictures off your walls LOL, and let your neighbors know your watching movies.
with my audio out from my t.v. Contrary to what other reviewers have said you can have surround sound through your t.v. I have a Directv HR20 HD DVR, a sony blu ray player and the sony receiver that comes with this system all hooked through HDMI cables to the t.v. Just picked this surround sound up on Saturday. (Phillips 47" 1080p HDTV) to the receiver and I have crystal clear surround sound through all of the components. I was a little receptive about buying a surround sound with a passive subwoofer but man can the thing boom my fairly large living room. Let me tell you for the price point it is the best surround sound you can get. The DVD player upconverts to 1080p which is really nice.
TIM The system had a great sound but the remote control would not work with my TV. So I sent it back with no problems.
